Policies

All Nursery Policies are available for parents to read and are reviewed and updated annually.

The policies help us to make sure that the service provided by the setting is of a high quality, and that being a member of the setting is an enjoyable and beneficial experience for each child and their parents. Please ask if you'd like to see them.

Pricing – What A Hoot Fees 2026

Fees are reviewed annually and parents are given 1 month notice of any due increase. 

PLAN CHOICES
  • Children can have either a term time only plan, a full year plan or a 50 week plan (please note this would be on top of funded hours if children are entitled).

  • Children aged 2 years and under £64.30 for full day (10 hours), £47.50 half day (5 hours), £54.95 mid session (8:30-16:00).

  • Children aged 2 and over £60.10 per day (10 hours), £44.35 half day (5 hours), £52.35 mid session (8:30-16:00). 

  • For 50 weeks nursery provision (2 weeks to be taken off nursery during either the summer holidays or the Christmas holidays), we can offer a cheaper package deal which is inclusive of 2 uncharged weeks to be taken during the school holidays.

  • Children aged 2 years and under £61.94 for full day (10 hours), £45.50 half day (5 hours), £52.95 mid session (8:30-16:00).

  • Children aged 2 and over £57.90 per day (10 hours), £42.75 half day (5 hours), £50.45 mid session (8:30-16:00).

Nursery opening times 
  • Monday – Friday 7:30-6:00pm (extended hours at manager’s discretion). 

  • Open 52 weeks of the year. 

  • Closed bank holidays and Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and half days on New Year's Eve and Christmas Eve. 

  • Breakfast club 7:30-8:30am (£4.00). 

Inset days and term weeks

Government funding is paid to nurseries for 38 weeks of childcare. If the term falls on a year where there is 39 weeks in the term the extra week will need to be paid for or children will need to be kept off nursery. Parents have the option to either break up for the summer one week earlier or to keep children in that week and pay for the missing week of funding.

 

Payments can be spread over 11 months: 

For 30 hours under 2 year olds – £307.50 

For 15 hours 2 yr old children – £113.25 

For 30 hours 2 yr old children – £226.50 

For 15 hours 3 yr old children – £82.50 

For 30 hours 3 yr old children – £165.00

Other information

Non-refundable payment of £50.00 payed before your child starts only if you are securing more than your funded allowance. If only funded hours are being secured no deposit will be taken. 

If parents require additional hours.

We charge £10.00 per hour. 

If your child is unable to attend.

Their sessions for any reason, fees are still charged, this includes bank holidays. There is a minimum attendance pattern of at least 2 half days but this is at the discretion of the nursery manager. 

Fees will be collected on the 1st of each month, one month in advance. 

We accept childcare vouchers but full payment is required by card or cheque until the first payment has been credited to our account. 

Late fees. 

£10.00 for first 15 minutes then a half session payment for any longer. 

 

Lunches and teas.

Charged at £3.50 and are not included in 30 or 15 hour funding. (Please see the manager for more details).

Children who attend full or half day or mid-session paid for sessions (10/5 hours) meals are included in the price. 

 

We give 5% discount for siblings.

Payments are 4 weeks in advance or part there of.

If parents withdraw their child from nursery we require one months notice.

Funding entitlement & Fees 2026

Government Funding (Ages 0–5)

At What a Hoot Day Nursery, we welcome and support the use of free government-funded childcare for eligible children aged 0–5 years.
Parents may use their funded hours flexibly, in line with our session times, with no restrictions. We offer stretched funding across the full year, allowing parents to maximise their entitlement.

Session Times
  • Full Day: 7:30am – 6:00pm

  • AM Session: 7:30am – 12:30pm

  • PM Session: 1:00pm – 6:00pm

  • Mid Session: 8:30am – 4:00pm
     

Times outside of these sessions may be agreed at the discretion of the Nursery Manager.

Discounts

5% sibling discount.

Notice Period

One month’s notice is required if withdrawing a child from nursery.

Adverse Weather & Emergency Closures

In the event of closure due to power shortages, flooding, adverse weather, heating failure, or safety issues:

  • Every effort will be made to remain open or offer places at another site (where available)

  • No refunds will be issued

  • Alternative days may be offered at the Manager’s discretion.
